Today’s prompt was to use a line from an existing poem to begin another one. I decided to use the opening line from yesterday’s sonnet as the starting point.
Each person here on Earth has a true name,
Which they seek to honestly reveal,
But the sting of past rejections’ pain,
Can sometimes take eternity to heal.
Despite the fear I’ll persevere
To speak, with poetry unfurled,
Writing my life boldly with Sharpie
On the white blank page of the world.
