Coffee House Life

This was written in response to today’s DVerse post. Frank is challenging us to write a poem using trimeter.

I wasn’t sure what to write about — the possibilities are literally endless — but because I am sitting in a coffee shop right now, I decided to use it as inspiration! I like how this turned out and enjoy the rhythm of writing in trimeter.

A lovely coffee house,

Suede couches welcoming,

Fun knickknacks all around,

And caffeine beckoning.

A respite from the day,

Relaxing in this place,

My mood’s a shining ray,

With coffee in my face

And music in my ears,

Exuding a chill vibe,

Forgetting all my fears,

In this coffee-house life.

  1. Two things, “My mood’s a shining ray, With coffee in my face” – this line refreshing and wonderful like coffee. Next, “Coffee house life” sounds one of the refreshing and happy life one could have. Beautiful!
