Mercy: A Ghazal

Here’s one more ghazal. I’ve been writing several poems in this form since the DVerse challenge on Thursday.

God’s love in view at the new day,
We wait in blessèd hope for the true day.

In the morning teach me of Your love,
Remind me that we’re children of day.

From Spirit’s temples let music play,
Even when the clouds paint it a gray day.

The cup we drink, the bread of life we eat,
Your real presence makes it a complete day.

And I, Revived Writer, forgiven for the past,
Have hope that You will raise me on the last day.
