Happy Easter! I am amused that it is also April Fools’ Day and the first day of National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo). This is not a response to today’s prompt but is a Ravenfly poem, inspired my Linda Luna’s newest decastich challenge. The Ravenfly is a 10-line poem with a syllable count of 8-7-8-7 8-7-8-7 10-10 and a rhyme scheme of abab cdcd ee.
When Jesus was laid in the tomb,
It seemed that hope had faded,
Yet God was weaving on the loom
Of life, life reinstated.
A day of silence: Was God there?
Or had His plan simply failed?
Disciples looked in despair’s stare,
Unaware what grace entailed.
What they all thought was such a shameful end,
Was a new beginning, Heaven opened.
