For Poetics Tuesday at DVerse, we are talking about body image. I thought this was going to be reaare hard for me and was not thrilled about it, but the prompt is actually not what I expected: We only had to choose one physical attribute to write about and our feelings about it. I ended up writing something positive!
I cannot quite describe
The color of these eyes,
Inherited from you
And shared with my brother —
A bit of brown but mostly green-blue?
Unlike any other
The part of me that I like most,
Looks like an ocean, nearing its coast.
Looks like an ocean, nearing its coast – that’s great!

I wonder if there is a palette for eye colour? If there is, then there must be a tone that ‘Looks like an ocean, nearing its coast- – beautiful!
