For DVerse’s haibun Monday, we are writing about some aspect of waiting.
It was snowing before the flight back home. Anxious for takeoff, we waited while workers de-iced the plane. We knew it was to keep us safe, but it was hard to have patience. Soon enough, the plane began to fly.
So will I, even if encased in ice, learn to fly, despite needing to continue waiting.
Falling flakes of snow
Ground is white, and air is wide
Ere the dawning day
Oh no! Airport waiting with snow! I love the phrase ‘Ground is white, and air is wide’.

Waiting in a cramped airplane certainly takes patience. I especially like “air is wide” in your haiku.

Nice line about the ground being white and the air wide.

There is a sliver of flight-of-fancy here. It sounds as if part of your patience involves retreating to the imagination. I like that. Lovely haiku too. 🙂

while waiting you create words that make the wait seems almost a story in itself

I am late to get around reading the haibuns RW, but I really like what you’ve written, and I can relate. Waiting in an airplane, sitting unmoving, is torture!
