DVerse is back with a haibun Monday about January! Also linked to Forgiving Fridays.
A few years ago, I wrote a poem to January and called him a “two-faced bastard.” Now here he is again. It seems like I cannot escape the gray days, even though it is sunny outside. I’m still working on accepting every season, forgiving life for not always shining beautifully. Sometimes there is nothing I can do. How can Janus change his face?
Maddening dancing
Non-acceptance reappearing
Chilly winter wind
Really liked that, the Janus a terrific play on two faces.

We must psyche ourselves up for the winter – well done.

It’s that two-faced bastard called Janus again… We can’t escape the circle or the chilly winter wind, but there is hope in the thought that it’ll soon blow over.

I think in January it feels gray even when it’s sunny.

Oh I am so glad you contributed this for Forgiving Fridays! I acknowledge you for being with yourself exactly as you are. To me, this is a huge key in accepting what is (including your process) and letting go. I’m honored and touched that you wrote this. Thank you.
My spiritual teacher John-Roger has a great quote – I use it often when I’m struggling “The willingness to do gives the ability to do.” 🙂
Sending love — Keep going!
