The Ocean Waves

This is for DVerse, where we are attempting Pantoums. My friend gave me the prompt of “ocean,” and this is the result.

The ocean waves good-bye at summer’s end,

As August sun beats down upon the sand

Good wishes into autumn it does send,

I only wish to keep them in my hand.

As August sun beats down upon the sand,

It warms as an embrace around my toes.

I only wish to keep it in my hand,

But time, like sand, swiftly, gently flows.

It warms as an embrace around my toes,

As cold and salty water rushes in —

But time like sand swiftly, gently flows,

And daily Earth continues its quick spin.

As cold and salty water rushes in,

Good wishes into autumn it does send

And daily Earth continues its quick spin —

The ocean waves good-bye at summer’s end.

i love these lines the most, it sets the mood of the pantoum and ocean was an excellent choice, the saying ggodbye and the waves were such beautiful imagery – well written pantoum! form and content are spot on!
