For DVerse’s prompt about the book of Ecclesiastes’ most famous passage. We are to include either a phrase from the passage or our own inspired by it. Join in here! Also, my poem includes a reference to Robert Frost.

Something there is that does not love
The walls I’ve built — that wants them down.
That wants to climb over them,
That wants to quit building them again,
That wants them destroyed.
How often I have wept over these stones
While applying my own mortar!

Something there is that tells the truth:
The walls I’ve built can’t hold it down.
It wants to reveal itself,
It wants to quit building barriers,
It wants to be alive.
It is time to stop returning to the same place,
And instead to effect change.
