This is inspired by Fandango’s flash-fiction challenge #20. However, I wrote a poem instead of a short story. I found the prompt photo intriguing:

I am also linking this to today’s one word challenge.
Look at all the clocks from inside soulless eyes,
Surrounded by so many circles, with hands counting down,
Read the Roman numerals despite that civilization’s
Fall; and the Arabic numerals or no numbers at all.
Simply see the timepiece run, the time tick by
Like an avalanche, impossible to manage:
No one can halt time, despite much knowledge.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we would figure out how to harness time?
