A Couple of Couplets

A short poem for Fandango’s Dog Days of August #4, for which the prompt is lost love.

Is love lost because he’s gone away?
No, it grows — because I want him to stay.

Eventually it matures, too big for my own soul.
I will let you go. I will let us both be whole.
