The Surviving Little Light

This is for the Sunday Muse, and, rebel that I am, I’m writing this on Tuesday. 🙂 I wrote a half-sonnet (thanks to Larry for this idea). Here is the picture for this week’s Muse:

How is it possible lit flame arrives
Unquenched upon the salty seashore’s side?
Kept safe inside a jar, candle survives,
Perhaps the stars served as a faithful guide.
The candle stayed steadfast though wind did blow.
How did the lighted flame remain so warm?
Why are you asking me? Heck if I know.

  1. You Tuesday rebel you, lol! I liked “ Perhaps the stars served as a faithful guide”, sort of cool to think of a distant light outside the jar providing guidance,or sustenance to the light within.
