Through the Eyes of Illness

The same place can seem so different:
Sunny prairie a blue, barren land.
One person is free, yet the
Mind of the other prods her
Into a box. Two humans, close in
Space but with much distance —
Light years — because light dims
In the eyes of illness.

  1. “Light dims in the eyes of illness” sums it up. When I’m struggling with depression or severe anxiety, there is no light, can barely hang onto my treasured Faith in God.
