Hope Is Connection

This first poem is for Linda Kruschke’s paint-chip poetry week 50(!), as well as for this prompt about connection.

Hope is connection.
Disconnection //
                            is floating
Aimlessly in liminal
Boundary waters —

Hope is a way of knowing
That mountain peaks are
Reachable, and evergreens
Are real trees

Connection and hope
Come from knowing
That a child’s lost balloon
Is carried by angels

Also, because I didn’t want to do a whole post for one haiku again, this haiku is for the “connection” prompt and for FOWC: Impetuous. I hope the word is used correctly.

spotty connection
impetuous internet —
guess I’ll go outside

  1. I love your paint chip poem, especially those lost balloons carried by angels.

As for the haiku, I believe “impetuous” is a great adjective for the internet. It means “of, relating to, or characterized by sudden or rash action, emotion, etc.; impulsive.” Definitely fits the internet these days.
