I began to write this poem in response to FOWC: Strategy and JusJoJan for today, without expecting much. However, I’m decently happy with it, so here you go.
Chess: A game played
With difficulty (for me),
Much anticipation and strategy.
Sixteen pieces (where are
They all going?) and the solemn
Knowledge that some must
Be sacrificed to save the King.
No one can play the game
Without tough choices making.
After each turn, check,
Reassess to see: which move next
Would be fruitful, which folly?
