Happiness Speaks

My attempt at a dramatic monologue for Linda Kruschke’s paint-chip poetry prompt this week, also partially inspired by FOWC: Category and JusJoJan for today.

I am likened to a bluebird
                                        yet live in non-winged things.
I am found in sunshine most easily
yet also in storms of any category.
I am in the Earl Grey tea
as much as in morning coffee,
I live in the beauty of a mountain town
and in the skyline of a big city.
I am heard in a drum solo
and in the soothing, supportive cello.
I am speaking here currently,

yet inhabit anywhere one looks for me.
