This sevenling, the final poem for this year’s NaPoWriMo, was inspired by this prompt about Nagging Thoughts. The thoughts usually don’t keep me up at night, but they might make the days feel long.
Some thoughts just won’t stop:
Saying I’ve got to simply suck it up
And get it together, get a job
Push through all the mental sludge —
While going to sleep I prefer to think
About this life more positively.
Sometimes one’s job is to keep “be”ing.
Well said. I like the closing line of this one. We are human “be”ings not human “do”ings.

Good one to end the month on. Love the last line – we are always rushing to ‘become’ and forget just to ‘be’.
