Evening Falling

Here is my rondelet inspired by the paint chips that Linda provided for us this week. I love writing rondelets but usually do not post them. We are supposed to use one of the paint-chip words as part of the refrain and to use “cabin in the woods” as the poem’s title. I did not do that second part, but it did inspire the imagery.

Zephyr blowing,
Sunset softening into night.
Zephyr blowing
While some fireflies fly by, glowing.
Trees like sentinels lend their sight.
It is quiet; now there’s a light
Zephyr blowing.
