Leaping Into Safe Arms

For Ronovan Writes’s current décima challenge, LEAP in the D rhyme spot. This brought back happy memories of summers when I was a kid, and my brothers and I would go to the pool a lot. I could still can barely swim, but I loved playing in the pool.

Summers at the neighborhood pool,
Happy memories from childhood
When I’d tasted mainly the good,
Many days a week, keeping cool.

I did not swim deep, as a rule.
We would go as a family
During holidays summery:
Into the swimming pool I’d leap,
Trusting that my father would keep
Me safe, for in his arms I’d be.
