After the Deluge

Another poem in response to MLMM’s current photo challenge. What an interesting picture! This poem is also an ottava rima for MLMM’s Saturday Mix. Nice to write one of these again!

Update: shared with DVerse OLN on 3/17/2022.

After the deluge, sky-high rainbow shows
Hope: Expressionless gray day breaks into
A panoply of colors. Let us go
From downcast downpour to a better view.
The ark and arc-en-ciel* can carry slow
But surely to adventure which ensues.
Remember not the past, but paradise,
Look boldly to the future past your eyes.

*French for rainbow (I couldn't think of a better line in English)
