Hummingbird

This haibun, inspired by something that just happened this morning (the haiku is more like zappai), also fits yesterday’s 3TC: flight, wing, and flap.

I am lost in my own thoughts, feeling guilty about what was said yesterday, wondering if I am going even more crazy. Suddenly, right in front of my eyes, on the other side of the window: a hummingbird, wings beating, magnificent green feathers and red breast almost gleaming in the early morning. I smile, wide-eyed until, quick as a blink, it flaps its wings and leaves my line of sight.

Sudden hum of flight:
Sometimes God Himself is like,
"LOOK AT THE BIRDY!"

Note: The last line wasn’t originally in all caps, but after accidentally typing it that way, I decided it fit. 😂
