This poem is inspired by both the WordPress daily prompt, which is “continue,” and Jilly’s new September collaborative poetry challenge. I wrote one rubai, a quatrain with a rhyme scheme of aaba, and anyone is welcome to add another rubai to it!
When it seems all hope is faded, gone,
We must make up our minds to carry on,
As heart beats ever steady as a drum,
As doting doe spurs on her newborn fawn.
Haven’t dabbled in this form in quite some time! Thanks for joining in, my friend.

I’ll be back to work on this after we move beyond these annoying little ‘storms’ here in Florida! I’m going to print this so that I have something to work on from paper in the coming days.

Thank you, Jenna! We welcome your prayers. The latest forecast brings Irma to our doorstep around 2 am Monday.

It’s taken me a while… but, hey, how many people do you know who have had their poem completed by someone experiencing the effects of a hurricane? I really enjoyed this challenge, and I hope I kept it close to your original intent. https://lifeinportofino.wordpress.com/2017/09/10/continue-to-carry-on/

I will let the words rattle in my head for now. I hope I can come up with something for this. 🙂
