Yesterday’s NaPoWriMo prompt was to write a sijo, and I’m bummed that I missed it. I have a sijo to share today, anyway. 🙂 This was inspired by my neighbor’s funeral, which my family attended today. My other neighbor saw that I was crying and said, “God gave you those tears. That’s your love.”
Love leaked out of my blue-sky eyes, when we said good-bye today:
Tears could not help but come out, like a sudden summer storm,
But I know now you are smiling, looking down from the Father’s house
