For day 22 of NaPoWriMo, DVerse’s quadrille Monday, and Real Toads’ prompt to write a poem inspired by one of a selection of images.
There is a plane inside the steam
Rising from a cupful of black coffee —
A plane piloted by caffeine
To fly wherever life leads.
I wake groggily from Dreamland
When the powerful brew hits my lips —
Now I can handle today’s
thunderstorms, turbulence smoothed.
Nice imagery.

Nice metaphor. I’m one of those annoying people who wakes right up–but I still love my coffee!

I love how this metaphor rises like steam in this poem. Lovely.

That was really well done. Coffee kickstarts my day. I’m not human without it.

Never had a cup of coffee but I definitely need my cup of tea in the morning. I love the pairing of image and words.
