A haibun (posted late) for DVerse. I wrote a free-verse poem instead of prose for the first part.
There is something about summer:
seeing big butterflies fluttering among
the green grass and magnificent
florescence — that makes me say
“Maybe there is true beauty,” even
if I need to watch it from inside.
Magic in nature:
unexpected happiness
held in the sunshine
Thank you for joining in. There is magic.
I see much of it from inside, too. Yesterday morning, I looked out the window to see a rabbit hopping across the street. 🙂

I also posted a little late, but I am so glad this Lepidoptera flitted on down. Really all beauty is seen on the inside. A new and less worn way to say “the eye of beholder,” you show us the picture of what is inside. I also love watching butterflies and dragonflies flit in the grass, little flying diadems, this poem opens up the wonderment. Super!
