This is for FOWC: Malleable and also for Brian’s prompt about paired opposites. I decided to write in tercets today, for a change. π
Time to train the malleable mind,
Never too late, new neural pathways to find,
Although no plan is neatly outlined.
Where to begin when one feels like a mess,
When surroundings are daunting due to loneliness?
It is a worthy goal, nevertheless.
The brain can change, it is not static,
Stability can calm what had been erratic,
There is still hope — this truth is emphatic.
Even when there’s no apparent hope, there are kittens π My neighbor’s kittens make me happy.
I sometimes feel I put too much effort into changing. Try to hard. But when it does happen I am happy.

I have had very little “free time” during the pandemic. But when I did, these lines sum it up for me: “Where to begin when one feels like a mess,
When surroundings are daunting due to loneliness?”
